When I brought home my 300D last Fall my dash was perfect. Now with this hot Summer it's starting to crack. Would super glue or something help it from spreading further?

Thanks,
Dave

I am thinking about using penetrating grade in my small cracks. Loctite 420 accepts a standard medical needle. This helps dispense it neatly.

You may want to get one of those carpet pads to shield it from the sun.

Hey thanks C, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have lots of needles that I have on hand for my rescue farm animals. I think like an 18X 11/2 inch would do the job just fine!

Thanks,
Dave

look for post titled "Dash" and view the pics of the cover. My dash is perfect but I worry about cracking as it is in the sun 24/7 so I bought it and the rear deck cover.

Take an empty baby food jar (very small) and fill it with water.

When you park the car unscrew the cap and leave it off.

No more cracks or brittle plastic :)

I'm not following how this would prevent cracks in the plastic dash. Could you explain this a little further?

The heat would cause the water to vaporize creating a small amount of moisture in the car not enough to cause condensation but enough to keep the interior from getting extremely dry and cracking its basically a simple humidifier

he's just saying that the magical dash repair fairies are usually attracted to baby food. but then when they see it's water they feel bad for you and your baby not being able to afford the real stuff so they keep your dash repaired for you. hope this helps.
