I bought the Mercedes E430 Sport used with 170,000 miles on it. Everything works perfect except at night I have no dash lights. No radio light or climate Control lights on either. I checked fuses by battery and the fuse box up front on drivers side by fire wall. No blown fuses. Please help.

I would still suspect a blown fuse as a common cause for all lights out. Pull the fuse again and perform a continuity check with a multi-meter (sometimes a visual check is deceiving). You can also check for voltage present to ground using the multi-meter where the fuse inserts (or from one of the exposed leg points on top of the fuse). If there is no voltage present, then .......

One other common path failure is corrosion buildup on the wiper arm of the dimming switch. Rotate the dimming switch a few times to somewhat clean the winding and move the contact point.

Shortly: Take the instrument panel out. Take the circuit board out of the plastics. Take a good small welding machine. (I don't know how the small ones called in English for circuit board repairs.) Stay with the heated machine on top of each pin that will be connected to the plug of the cables behind the instrument panel. That means, warm the pins up. Why? Because I had the same problem and the reason was that some of the weldings on the circuit board were broken in tiny hair thick lines (so you cant see or feel them loose) but when you heat up every pin a little bit, they stick together with the board back..

:) If you didn't understand anything about what I said, check my previous postings. There is bunch of things I posted related to this problem that I had also before..

I assume you do know which button controls the dash lights right? Is it turned on all the way?
