Hello all. I'm having a little trouble with my recently acquired 1988 300CE. When the ignition is in the accessory or run positions, the dash lights and the rear side marker lights are on as well. They do go off when the key is removed. And my headlights seem pretty feeble, but I'm not sure how bright w124 headlights usually are..... there is currently no radio in the car, just a hole in the dash... not sure what to look for first... don't see any crossing wires... you guys have any ideas of what can cause this?

to clarify: I'm referring to the illumination dash lights not to the warning lights

Are you saying that your exterior lamp switch is in the off position and the lights are on? If that is affirmative then the headlight switch may be your problem.

Mine work the way you described but only when the exterior lamp switch is turned on.

You should be able to dim the instrument cluster with the rheostat.

Here are the wiring diagrams:

-Park 126

-Instrument Cluster 130-3 130-5
