It's a time consuming project. The center console has to be removed, the steering column jacket, glovebox, clock, air ducts, air conditioning link, light switch, par4king brake pull rod knob, window molding, steering wheel, and steering wheel for starters.
I recently removed the instrument cluster to so that I could send the odometer off for repair - not too bad of a job.
There may be some outfits that could come to your house (or that you could go to) and fix it on the spot. I know that the local MB dealer does this.
I strongly recommend getting a maintenance CD on your vehicle - it will pay for itself in no time.
Hope this has been some help,
Stan
