Hello!

Adsitco has removable hood stars. They cost $49 ($44.10 if purchased online) and pop right out. Replacement stars are $19 ($17.10 online). http://www.adsitco.com - it is in the Online Catalog | Accessories area.

I don't know if other vendors carry them, but you might check with Jonathan.

give it some viagra, it will stand up[:I]
LMAO keep up the good humor, Professor[;)]

I think the removable hood ornament is the way to go. It's a royal pain to reinstall the hood star ornament especially when I assume that the juvenile delinquent used brute force rather than finesse to swipe it. Chances are that the spring and/or hook part is disfigured that the new ornament may not attach properly, resulting in limp or crooked hood star... which brings me back to Professor's suggestion - what dosage at what intervals?

I have a hood star that wasn't specific to the 126. Don't know what chassis it's for, but I had to grind it down a bit so it would sit flush with my windshield. A friend of mine had it lying around so he gave it to me. It's impossible to break off. Brute force, or finesse. I've approached my car after a concert one night to see some kid trying to tear it off. I just step by him, open the door, start the engine, put the brights on, and revved it.

Stupid kid, he was still trying to pull it off, although you were starting up the car?

I remembered back in the days when I was a kid, this guy in my class ripped the hood *star* off a Dodge and was selling it to people. I bought it from him for a dollar. He said he'll try ripping off Mercedes and Jaguar's hood *star* and sell it for $5. But he was never able to rip those off, haha.
