I just bought my first Mercedes-Benz car and are a little confuse. My car is a C250d AMG Premium Plus automatic 2015 model. My first impression is very good coming from 30 years with SAAB (R.I.P).

The car was originally imported from UK and therefore have the UK map for the navi. I have made a couple of calls and to my surprise I am told that the map of Cyprus can't be installed? What's that SD card slot good for then?

I am also told that aftermarket Carplay can't be installed this days?

What's going on with Mercedes regarding the infotainment system?

Or is there a way that normal Mercedes service stations don't or can't do?

From what I understand they can't be installed anymore. Don't know why but also some steering wheel buttons stop working.

There is a lot of CarPlay units out there I can’t imagine they would all not work. Who is informing you of the problems.

What I find online all Carplay i found said left arrows on steering wheel will not work and 2 Mercedes mechanics here on the island told me "it can't be done anymore"

The same with the map "it can't be done anymore" especially if I have the 8 inch screen (which I don't know what I have yet).

As I said I am a former SAAB user and I know that to change or install some parts one needs security access to SAAB / GM but there is a workaround for that.

As Mercedes is new to me I don't have a clue if Mercedes has similar system and previous workarounds stopped working?

But what surprise me the most is why a Cyprus map can't be installed?
