We in the U.S. are "suffering" from the latest round of gas price increase.
$3.29 USD as of today where I'm from.

Just curious, what are our national and most importantly, international list members paying these days?

Thanks in advance!!

I'd put it to you that people in the US don't know anything about high fuel prices. Here we're paying 1.53-1.60 per L depending where you live and soon an extra 10c a litre in our largest centre. However in Europe it's really really high.

Yea, it is true about everyone else' gas prices are much higher than the U.S. But I guess it is because us americans have never had this expensive gas.

Put 64.15 litres in on Sunday for 422 k's of driving. Used Premium ULP for, AUD$91 worth at close to $1.50 a litre and the Aussie's at 85 US cents. Equates to US$4.80 a US gallon.
Get used to it, it ain't going to get any cheaper!
The 600 returned about US 15mpg (15L/100k) for a 4 up fully laden trip with 4 bikes on the back (as in bicycles).

Cheapest I can get gas now is

87 - $3.41
89 - $3.52
91 - $3.63

It's as high as $3.90+ a gallon for premium is some spots.

I want my first car back, a 1973 Honda Civic [CVCC] with the "bad boy" 1.5 liter 53hp engine-swap in it; 40+ mpg that thing did. Sad, in 35 years, fuel economy really hasn't gone up.

It never fails! The quickest way to get a response from everyone is to mention the price of petrol.

Imagine having a business where you have to display your selling price out on a huge board outside every outlet, where it is difficult to provide bad service (as there isn't any!) and you sell exectly the same product as everyone else!

Every time our price in Australia goes up the media says it's because of unusually high demand in the US (usually a cold winter or stockpiling gets blamed).

So my solution is simple, all you car owners over in the States please park your cars and walk for a few days and turn off your oil heaters so the spot price for crude oil can have a chance to recover.

Thank you for your co-operation.

ps. Your numero uno, George Bush is threatening to travel to Australia later this year for a trade/security summit, could you please talk him out of that idea as he tends to have this incredible ripple effect wherever he goes (security, media circus etc), thanks again.

I know that the non-Americans like to complain when Americans bitch and moan about paying nearly $4.00 a gallon when others pay $8.00+. There's a reason for your ridiculously high gas prices though, it's the insane amount of taxes your governments impose on you because of "environmental concerns"... i.e. tax on big engine cars, tax on all aggregate, tax tonnage dumped in a landfill, tax on hazardous waste, tax on electricity generation etc. etc. etc. non of these taxes do a thing for the environment though, it's basically paying for the right to pollute; all they do is screw people out of their money.

Um....sadly you need a lesson on economics it's also to do with currency shifts and the fact that the US sucks up so much fuel also pushes out the demand curve thus resulting in a higher equilibrium price for the rest of us. This excessive fuel consumption in the US is mainly due to no US auto makers being able increase engine power by any means other than displacement. Infact buying a large car in NZ has less tax on it than in the US, we also have a relatively low tax on fuel here by international standards.
