Just when I got my c43 yesterday I slightly hit a curb, first one in 7 years and it had to happen on the first day of getting the car. Damage is minimal on the rim but I read way too many stories on tires blowing up and such. I was wondering if the damage on my tire is fine? I'm generally a very OCD and paranoid person, and I guess I was too careful when parking next to the curb. mostly worried about the tire damage on the side wall/lip

Looks like just cosmetic damage on the wheel, especially since you didn't hit very hard. The tire . . . um, I would take it to your local tire store and let them look at it. It appears it may be a bit more damaged.

Letmeguess what the tire shop will say! From a liability standpoint and a sales standpoint they'll most likely say to replace it.

If you hot rod around a lot, I'd replace it.

What I would probably do is just keep an eye on it for loss of air, and any further tearing.

I feel your pain

I just bought my first MB yesterday. A beautiful white C250, with numerous packages including AMG 786 18 inch wheels, immaculate with only 23k miles. Turning in to a Target store I nicked a curb with my right rear wheel! First day. I blamed it on the turning radius, and the navigation system annoying me. Turns out the turning radius on the C250 is 35.6 ft. compared to my 2000 Mitsu Galant which was 41 ft. I have a lot of questions about this car and this is one of them. Why does it feel like I can not turn into a parking spot I could have made easily in my Galant? Will I ever be able to relax whilst driving this car? Too much technology that seemed simple when the MB dealer explained it to me. Still it is a beautiful automobile. :newbie:
