Well my drunken friend broke my flip out cupholder in the armrest on new years, and so far I'm completely stumped on how to put it back together. As far as I can tell nothing is broken, and all the parts are there. I just can not for the life of me figure out how to reassemble it. I fear taking it to the dealer will cost me big time ($$$)

Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem.Except that mine wasnt broken by drunken friend on new years. The way i see it, i should place one end in place and then yank it lightly bending the other metal ear, where the plastic roller is attached,to attach the whole piece.Every time I try the roller pops out before i get really anywhere. I prefer not to break the thing so....does anybody have any better ideas how to fix it?

There are several small pins that hold the cupholder into the metal arms for my '02 S430.

Additionally, there is Swiss watch size gearing that you must reinstall correctly to get the 'snap open' feeling.

Finally, there is a small spring at the rear metal arm contact which I have not yet been able to reinstall. This spring is was holds the cupholder tightly closed.
