The cruise control is one of the few things left on my 240D that isn't working. While fixing the clutch I noticed an electric device under the steering column that goes to another device located in the engine compartment near the brake/clutch fluid reservior. Both are labelled "manual transmission".

I presume these are the components to the cruise control. The Haynes manual that I purchased does not mention cruise control at all. Anybody know about this? Would replacing these two components restore the cruise control?

Seriously.

Maybe it seems like a stupid question, but if you answer it you can say so...
