I am planning to go to Amelia. Leave Friday and get back Monday. I will be in the Cars & Coffee with the S600. That is such a great feeling, driving onto the 18th Green at the Ritz Carlton and parking in front of the MB Pavilion. Roger Penske is the guest of honor this year. If you want to go to Cars & Coffee, register as soon as it opens in September. The 30 or so places go fast. Hope to see the two of you next year.

A proper shooting brake needs a way to carry it's owner's kill. Whether it is a Deer, Elk or Bison. The roof racks are necessary. BTW, I am not a hunter, but I know what a proper shooting brake is used for.

Here are pics of a 1959 Chrysler Scimitar Concept car shown at Amelia in early March 2020. They made me think of Stryker's project. The wagon is not a true shooting brake but the rear doors are suicide doors. Note the rear roof retracts. I guess the shooters could stand in back for elevated shooting. The front looks like a Studebaker and the rear lights are like the Chevy Belair from 1960. These are not intended to upstage Mona Lisa, but only as a complementary tribute. Stryker's concept is much more modern and has a V-12!!

The wood was all sent to Madera Concepts for refinishing. All pieces are due back soon, and the work will continue. We are hoping to finish this project by end of summer 2020.

Have you used Madera Concepts before? Do you recommend them?
I will let you know when the registration for Amelia Cars & Coffee opens so you can register. The spots go fast and it is only $35 to register.

PS, Sorry the Scimitar pics are so large.

I have and they are the best! I’ve been using them for years. They did all the wood work on Mallorie. And other cars. The wood comes back looking better then new, they are truly outstanding technicians.

I’m afraid Covid and some technical issues have delayed progress. The technical issue is the compound shaping of the rear quarter glass, as it is both rounded and twisted in slight shaping. Rest assured, we are working with our third supplier who is promising progress. We will see.

We will get there, everyone! Be patient!

Thank you for the complement.

We are hung up on getting two custom pieces of glass for the two windows in the back panel. Templates have been made ans send to 5 fabricators, no positive response just yet. We will keep you all posted on progress.
Thanks!!
