Search shows 0 for "creaking doors." I am in Cape Town, South Africa and have been here for over 5 months (I'm from US west coast). In that time I have owned - for the first time in my life - 6 Mercs. 2 280SEs (currently driving a 1984 280SE in beautiful condition with 340,000 km), an '85 380SE, an '88 300SE, an '88 type 124 300E, and an '82 type 123 230E. I LOVE these cars! All were in immac cond except the 230 which was in pretty good condition. I just recently discovered the 300SDL in the States and plan to get one when I return. MY QUESTION: Though I love these cars the creaking doors (every one I've owned except the 230) drives me CRAZY. I've had 2 people tell me to put silicone spray on the door perimiter. One guy, a trimmer (re-upholsterer) said to use a saturated cloth and apply liberally to the door gaskets. ZERO HELP! I actually thought it was FROM silicone products on the leather that created the creaking. I hope there is a fix for this as I may become the Mad Benz Man otherwise!

Doors creak like crazy as you're going down the road. Bumpier roads = more ceaking. Its like the leather is a balloon and you know the noise a ballon can make when you rub your hand over it. The sound is not like this just an analogy for a possible mechanical action producing this "creaking."

I've had good luck using glycerine as a lubricant. Small bottle, cheap :)) ), put a little on a rag and rub it on the door seal. I've used it with hinges too. Used a tooth pick or q-tip as an applicator.
