I have a 2008 s550 I need to now the location of the crankshaft position sensor need to change on my car

Thanks konigstiger I look back on that side didn't see it was kind dark will look again

CPS are buried on the top port side of the tranny bell housing next/underneath the fire wall. Which means that for DIY without any disassembly means that you can barely see and barely touch the CPS - and cannot see and touch at the same time.

To create more room for CPS changeout, consider removing the plastic housing for the throttle body. Be careful not to crack it during removal. Consider putting in a new rubber gasket at the throttle body interface.

For reliability, stick with a Bosch CPS - and run away from off brands.

My S550 only has 104,000 miles so have not replaced on the W221 yet. Usually replace mine between 120,000 and 150,000 miles. (Four other MB vehicle platforms.)
