Cost to cut "emergency" key?

Aside from the cost of programming a smart key, and assuming (!) the dealer cuts them, has anyone had a new emergency key cut for their 2000 + MB? If so you mind sharing? :D

The blade key cost me around $4 at DUVAL just months ago.
£24 here:
MASTER KEY - - Mercedes-Benz Parts, Inchcape

The factory part is a lot harder and duable metal than some copies, the Duval price sounds too low to be an OEM part, never know.
Duval is MB dealer, however the $4 for blade key come with combination of ordering $130 remote.
Hey, folks. Thanks for the feedback.

While taking advantage of a service coupon I asked the parts guy at Autobahn this morning about the blade key. They don't cut them on the premises, they have to order them just like the Smart Key, and they charge $11 for them. The guy did say MB gives them about a three-page procedure they have to follow for the purposes of security when ordering a key, whether emergency or smart.

That's less than I thought it would be, sometimes you get a decent deal.

I thought I got a pretty good deal with the service coupon, $112.54 out the door for a coolant flush, brake flush and "complementary" 27-point inspection. Not that I put too much faith in their freebie inspection, as Kajtek1 has in the past noted his dealer found issues on his that they didn't inspect. I'll soon be doing my trans mount and differential fluid and will inspect the flex discs; if they're in bad shape I'll know how good the inspection was. :)

What's the interval?

Greg,

What is the recommended service interval for the differential fluid please? Also is there a typical # of miles (or driving conditions) when the flex discs should be inspected?

Thanks,

MM

p.s. I should probably have started a new thread... ;)

I think the diff fluid is one of those 100K items, although G-AMG says he recommends 60K (check his post in the DIYs). To my knowledge mine's never been done.

Flex discs are on the B list of checks (for our cars) IIRC. One of those things I was going to look at when I changed the cats but ran out of time/light/energy as it was. I'll try to remember to charge up the camera and take a few pics if you're interested, that'll be about the most esoteric post ever. ;)

Mine has never been changed either.

Sure, I'd like to see the pics! It might even end up as a sticky.. ;)
