Brakes are pretty basic - no need for dealer service. Try a trusted indie.
Recommend Akebono EURO dustless brake pads to keep the wheels clean.
IMHO - both the dealer and indie will want to prematurely change the rotors every time the pads are changed - you can usually change them out on the front calipers every other time the pads are changed. (Unless something is wrong like brake pulsing)
This is also a good opportunity to have the brake fluid changed - should be $100.
Doing a time estimate workup in the ASRA (MB Dealer labor flat rate), ASRA stands for operation texts, standard texts, flat rates and work units (It is the German abbreviation for Arbeitstexte, Standardtexte, Richtzeiten and Arbeitswerte), I come up with 3.2 hours to change out pads and rotors. I would expect that the actual labor would be closer to 4 hours when a few extras are added in. If you back out R&I of the rotors then 1.5 hours for pads only. Dealership or Indie alike will be looking for add on parts and labor such as parking brake adjust, parking brake shoes, brake fluid flush etc. I agree with doing the brake flush every couple of years so could be a good time to have that done, (Brake fluid does absorb water over time, ie hygroscopic).
Parts pricing is all over the map but buying through your service provider, you will be paying list price regardless of brand so expect to dig deep into your 401K.
Good Luck,
Bob
