I need to replace my coolant temperature sensor on my 86 16v. I can't find the part # and have looked both on Adsit and Autohauz website for the part. I have not checked with a dealer yet. Does anyone know of another parts house that may have this sensor? Thanks in advance for your help. Mike

Hear is a photo of the part I found on one of the 201 threads.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you are looking for the three prong temp sensor located on the front/top of the cylinder head right behind the thermostat housing. I just ordered one myself from AutoHauzAZ for $20-some since my '92 190E overheats in traffic. The electro-magnetic fan clutch is controlled by that sensor.

That link should be the three prong coolant temp sensor you need. Like I said, it sounds like you need the three prong sensor, though I don't know what your initial problem was (I'm assuming an overheating issue).

SORRY! That link was for the temp sensor for my car.

That should be the link for YOUR car...I dont think they are really any different and I think that they both would work in both cars IMO
