My 230 TE '83 model has developed a coolant leak from the bottom of the coolant pump. The engine is a 102.The owners workshop manual states that the pump must be replaced,as this leak indicates worn seals on the shaft(I assume pump shaft).I cannot find any information or diagrams of the internal workings of the pump.I would like to know if the pump can be rebuilt.Any comments appreciated.

yes, exactly, coolant flow from the weep hole indicates a failing pump seal.

It is possible to rebuild the pump, but you need a press to get the shaft out of the body, IMHO you'd be better just getting a new one.

Mine failed yesterday all at once w/ no warning, you can read about it here... different engine tho.
