hi i have a 2006 c180 kompressor which is loosing a little coolant over a period of a few weeks there is no obvious external leaks or in the cabin from heater i did a compression test and all seems fine and also did a sniffer test at the coolant header tank for exhaust gases but all seems fine there i also have a fault code that the engine is running to lean.I have been told that it may be a cooling duct seal between the timing case cover and the crankcase allowing water into the oil pan can anyone tell me if anyone has heard of this problem before. Thanks

I can't say I've heard of that but it should be visible in your oil if you're getting any noticeable amount of coolant loss. Do you have anything that looks like mayonnaise under the oil filler cap? After driving for a while is there any foam on the dipstick? If all else fails a Blackstone lab test of a small sample of used oil will tell you if there's coolant in it.

I also experienced coolant loss while I was travelling a long journey. the coolant tank was half empty when I got a warning lamp to check coolant. I refilled the tank and did not find any leaks, it hasn't happened again. is this normal?
