Hi everyone, I just bought a 2006 CL500 and on the way home the check coolant light came on. When I got home I noticed a bunch of coolant leaking from the firewall area under the driver side fender. After reading other forums I thought it was the heater core pipe but after checking it out it looks just fine. What else is prone to leaking in that area ?

Jtrifari looks like you might have a coolant problem.. So i would get the cooling system checked out . If you used the car not knowing coolant was low, and ran it without coolant its boiled over . You might get away with just getting it refilled again and then have the system presure tested .I dont know where the coolant pump is on your engine, they leak also wnen they are wearing out .

How is the heater core itself?
Have you looked on the other side of the firewall?

Coolant leaks are hard to find, as they are temperature dependent.

My radiator would only leak whilst sitting in traffic (at 97C), when driving (82C) the radiator wouldn't leak.

Update:
After tearing into it turns out the plastic molding for the heater core pipe was split along the seam it was casted on. Pretty straightforward repair and it was the same process as the s500 which I have found a couple videos on YouTube for.
