For some reason, my iPhone charger would not stay securely in my ML's cigarette lighter socket. It was constantly coming loose. So I bought a quick charge USB charger socket off of Amazon for around $13. (it says the brand is ADSDIA, but it looks exactly like other unbranded ones that are cheaper on eBay). It was very easy to install, and works perfectly. Problem solved.

Good info and looks great! I don't know how many removable adapters I have purchased that break in a few months.

For anyone else doing this the cig lighter is off when ignition is off. If not worried about drain ( I would think its draw when not connected to a device is very small) I would consider the passenger side outlet, constant power. So if you park run into a store you can leave phone in and charging.

Do you have a link to it?

Very nice. Does the tray close?

We tapped into the ex-cig power outlet and ran wiring under the centre console with similar usb plugs - one along side of the center console panelling at just below seat level dangling out for access and another running thru the interior of the center console to the back side of the center console and dangling for easy usb plug access for the rear passengers. Shrink wrapped the entire backside of the usb pieces after wiring it.
