I just got this clean 2006 clk350. Yes, I know about the balance shaft... When I operate the top the display says something like "Top: Visit Workshop!". However I scanned for faults and only got one pending p0128 which is about the thermostat. Any likely possibilities as to what's wrong with the top?
Convertible top: "Visit workshop", but no fault code?

Also, you posted this thread twice. Go into the to the one, choose the "EDIT" button, and then you will have a "DELETE" button to get rid of it.
It sounds like you have an error in the soft top control module, but you are using a generic OBDII scanner. That only reads ECU codes. To get codes from the top controller, you need to use a tool that reads MBZ's proprietary systems, such as SDS (dealer's Star Diagnosis) or iCarsoft. Once you have the codes, we can help.
