I'm trying to get the convenience closing and opening of the windows and sunroof, through the recirculate button to work.
I have successfully repaired the IR receiver inside the doorhandles, but I can't seem to get the recirculate button to open and close the windows as described.

Is this only possible after a certain software update, or after a certain VIN range?

Nope. By guess would be that this is only available after a certain date.
