Hello,
Our 2004 E500 wagon recently had an odd wire short that didn't trip the fuses, wires on the left bottom of the driver burned, some in the middle console.
The command went wacky with a black screen and malfunction.
Some of it we were able to fix and the command turns on for about 10 seconds with the Benz Logo and then shuts off.
The radio/cd/lighter and shifter backlight is still not working.
Car is reading the following codes
D103 Most component at position 3 reports opened ring
D117 Specified/Actual configuration cannot be loaded

Can anybody tell me where is the most component at position 3?
I read all about the STAR arrangement and the wake up line but still have no idea what is position 3 on the ring and where can I find the ring in my BENZ. Thanks in advance.

Now it is worse, so we took it apart and tried to fix this issue and the car would not start.. now it reads code
9005 communication failed with control unit N26 5 electric steering lock control

what to do ?

Well, my first recommendation is to flesh out your forum profile. Other than you have an '04 E500 wagon with an electrical problem, we know nothing else about you - your location - or your car. Short of that, it sounds like your tinkering has put you into a "find a dealer quick" situation.
