is cross pollination possible- will a combination stalk from a C202 part number A 208 545 00 10 or a combination stalk from an sl129 part number 1295402944 fit my car sl129/sl320 which has part 1295403644?

Probably not, although the differences might be in the length of the stalk or the look of the knob.

If you have the two parts in question laying around, take out the one you want to replace and lay them side by side and compare.

I've said for a while that somebody who could develop an interchangeability index that could tell you something like that would make a fortune. Wrecking yards in the US seem to have them--I found that the driver's side outside mirror on my SAAB 9000 was the same as a Volvo part. The yard didn't have the SAAB part, but they had the Volvo part. Maybe you could find a wrecking yard that could help you.

I don't know Finbarr O'Donovan but I know a Finbarr O'Donnell- would that do?will i tell him you were asking for him?
