Good morning all, looking for a little advice on the cold start injector. I had to repair the wiring harnes to it. So I pulled the injector off the motor, place in a jar, started motor and got nothing from the injector.
I am not sure if I have a clogged injector or malfunctioning thermal time switch.
To bench test the injector do you need to apply a 12V cuircuit through the terminals to open the injector and then shoot brake cleaner through it?

Thanks

Here's the obvious question.

Was the engine cold?

yes, it was cold.
Found the answer. Hooked the injector up to 12V and it opened. Sprayed some cleaner through it and had a nice spray pattern.
So next step is the switch. It makes the circuit when cold, breaks it when hot, correct? Continuity when cold.

The next step is actually to find out what "cold" means, then test the switch to those conditions. Cold may not be MB cold until it's in the 50s, or the 40s.

I guess its time to break out a can of computer air duster. Hold upside down and spray on the thermo switch for a bit. Stuff will freeze anything. Thats how i test freezstats on large air handlers.
