Hello all
I have a 97 c280 when its cold she will not shift to the next gear. It will stay in second no matter what speed I go. So I run it slow about 2000 rpm until the trans warms up about 4 miles. Then it shifts and runs normal?? Any ideas out there.
Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong.
That is normal in the mornings. It is suppose to do that because of the catalytic converter -- don't take it to a transmission shop, they will tell you it needs to be rebuilt. As long as it shifts properly when it is warm and you don't get an engine light, you're good. Remember it's old.

I leased a 2014 c300, the other day, it did the same thing but not as pronounced because it was new.
