I just received my Chinese code reader today and it's awesome. For $66 I will now be checking things quite often. Well one of the codes that won't reset are b1102 and b1103 which says "control line IR signal from left front door IR. The other code is from the right door. So I assume there are lost signals but can someone give me a clue on how to trouble shoot this? The module is fbs/rfp's. The original stereo unit has been replaced with an after market one if that makes any difference. Thanks.

does the IR remote work to lock and unlock? If so ignore the code. I've found that carsoft and likely other imitation readers will give errors that either aren't translated correctly to the correct error code, or give an error when it doesn't exist because they don't do the proper sequencing to verify the error.

It is possible that the IR sensors are not connected to n54 module.

When you point the IR sender of the fob to the left door (locked) very closely, and keep pressing more than 1 second, if the door does not unlock, and the windows do not go down, you have a problem with the IR reception.

Thank you for the info and btw I ended up finding out more about what is going on with the IR. What I found was you have to take the handle assembly off and take the IR out and disassemble it to access the location where the circuit board is and take the silicone of it first. Next is re solder the contacts on the board as you most likely have broken points on it. I also fund a link to show what I am talking about and I know it isn't for exactly the same car but it will explain things better. If you hold the open door button on the key fob and your windows don't go down then this is your solution. Going to do you soon and I will confirm and retest to see if the code goes away. Remember boards with temperature changes shrink and swell like wood while the solder can't and most of the time when things stop working on vehicles this is the cause.

Interesting that, in the video, his door would unlock remotely... but the convenience feature did not work. Don't they both use the same ir sensor, or is the unlock RF?

rf = lock/unlock
IR = lock/unloc + cf
Well ain't that special...
My IR system is disabled on my '97 as the OP had a Python remote start/alarm installed. Works a treat, but I lost the convenience feature (not that I'd ever use it...Rarely ever do on my LS460). In Fact, the module in the trunk is unplugged...
oh, and I lost the trunk remote unlock, but central locking works a treat with the python system.

When I got into it I had codes as follows:

B1100 Lock Switch circuit SN1/SN2 from RCL control module (N54) to CCVM (N10-1 or N10-3), open circuit or short
to B+ or ground.

B1102 Left Front Door IR receiver or Drive Authorization System (DAS) control line, short to B+ or Ground

B1103 Right Front door IR receiver or Red indicator lamp, short to B+ or Ground

Going to get into this soon and will confirm if this gets resolved once I inspect both doors. I bought my car from someone in Salinas California and since it's been in Oregon being much cooler after a long life of heat & being garage kept I can see why the connections would need re soldering. I will let you know if it clears the codes once I am done. It should from everything I can tell.
