has anyone ever replaced only part of their clutch pack?
clutch was just replaced at 50k...car only has 69k on it, throw-out bearing and pressure are good, but the clutch disc broke and the pilot bearing has to be cut off, but i can't seem to find just the parts, everyones is only selling whole kits

and what is better for the car pressure plates that have more fingers like 26-30, or ones that have less?

(yes i know, i do not know much about the subject)

Ya don't wanna do this again, do you?
I can't speak from Benz experience...mainly from Ford/Chev, but they are all similar.
Dunno the finger question, except if ya ride the clutch too much, you can warp those fingers and cook a throwout.

Never ride a clutch. (not saying ya did)

no no ard this was bad practices, the pilot bearing was stuck from being installed w/o any anti-seize, the plate most likely broke from all the wrenching and pulling on the transmission trying to get it unstuck

i know that all parts wear together, but a gently used clutch disc will allow me to get back on the road, then when i have money i will do a full replacement

called KoP bob, he has a whole kit and is asking more for that then what i could get a complete one online for...still awaiting to hear from a rev member that may have one
