Well the C43 has an AMG version of the CLK's V8... So it has 302 hp, vs. 275 of the clk.. They have similar speeds and times, but the C43 is an AMG, which to some is a world of difference. It's also for your family, so is a coupe practical or not? The C43 is a sedan, a small one, but there IS ample legroom in back.. Also, braking... I don't know too much about the CLK but the C43 has 13.1, and 12.8 inch disks, TONS of stopping power.. MY vote would be for the AMG, if you can find one, which is hard enough, seeming there are less than 1200 in the US... good luck, and if there's anything else I could help with, feel free to ask..

0-100

well the C43 is 0-100 in about 14.3 because its 1/4 mile is 14.3 @ 99.9 mph or so, haha. I do not know the clk430's time. The c36 i do not know 0-100 but 0-60 is around 6.2, which is 1/2 a second slower than the 43, I IMAGINE that the clk is about 0-60 in 6 seconds. Handling... The c43 is a very sharp cornering car, but it has recirculating ball, so there is a little play in the wheel, but it can turn on a dime.. I do not know what the clk has, it might have r and p. 36 is recirculating. Note: the c43 has very massive rear pillars, so backing up is very painful, I would recommend driving one before purchase, if that's what you choose to do, it's difficult. Anyhting more, feel free to holler. I doubt the 36 has better handling, but I am not sure.
