I just bought a w209 convertible and i replaced the fog lights with led lights.
but they will not come on and stay on when you set the switch to them.
They only flash for a few seconds like Christmas tree lights do. What could be the problem? Or can i just wire them to the headlights for them to work?

They don't draw enough current you need to add a resistor in parallel or reprogram the front sam controller for lower current.

Oh ok but i dont have HID headlights i have the halo LED plug ones no resistor or paralle if them are connected to the sam ?
I'm pretty sure if post or pm vin no I can double check.
Where are you located, do you know somebody with xentry or may have your own?

I can confirm your headlights are directly wired to the front sam, best way to calculate the resistor is to measure the current on the original bulb, then measure the current of the LED on the bench wih14V.
If you don't know how to calculate it post the measurements.
The so called CAN eliminaters don't always work and a resistor is cheaper.
Still best way to do this would be reprogramming the SAM instead of burning off energy.
Where in the US are you I can may point you to somebody that can do the programming.

Im in Cleveland ohio paul do you know of anyone that can do all that and get my fog lights working properly?
I did date a girl from Cleveland but I dont think that helps, check the indy shops.
If you find one and they dont now how to do it I can help.
You could get a Chinese clone sds but it will set you back $600 to $800
