I'm assuming since you're posting here your C230 is similar to the CLKs in this forum. So...

In swapping out my radio/CD changer (trunk), the interface is a fiber optic one. I would guess that you would need the changer, fiber cable (guessing that was proprietary per the radio manufacturer - bosch?) and perhaps a power cable to the CD changer. I'm sure there are others who have done this add on, but I would start by checking to see if your radio/head end have fiber out ports to a changer, then go from there. If not, you'll have to get a new radio or wire in the aux port if you have navigation, but then again, you'll be doing some odd custom wiring to make that configuration work well.

I think you mean the head unit itself? If so, you've got it - the tools you have in there should click into place which release (pull inward) two small arms which keep the radio from being slid out. Once these are released, you should be able to slide the radio out. For mine, I also had to pull the tray below and use one hand to push out/jigger the radio forward from the backside with one hand, while jiggering the tools a bit with the other hand. I recall it took some doing the first time (probably since it hasn't been moved in 10 years), but thereafter slid somewhat easily.

Long story short, push out/pull towards you the radio from the backside through the compartment you've already removed.
