Does anyone know if a fix has been found for the problem with CLK windows (especially Cab's) dropping 3-4 inches after closing. Is it a new computer program or new control module?
I know this is an old thread but the topic is still valid. The auto box on my 02clk 230K cabriolet started playing up not changing up after start but then working after switch off then switch on. After reading the stuff on this site I decided to change the battery. It seems to have worked on the gearbox but the front windows dropped 4" and would not close when the door was shut. I followed the advice of winding up and holding for 5 seconds and that worked. Thanks to all concerned.

autobox not changing and window drop.

i had the same bro and i have the cabriolet as well.... I agree with whoever said hold the window down for 5 -8 seconds but not the express, u can do that too if u want and that will solve the prob.
good luck steve.
Just an update. My new battery is OK. £70 for 100ah and 850 cca which took me ages to source because of the 100ah which is the correct one for my car, the autobox is now working and the window fix still works. Because I see the battery as a consumable I treat these niggles as repaired for free. Still only averaging 20mpg with my wife driving around town. My old 220CE did 25mpg around town.

Still wish I had kept my 1992 220 CE

Hi guys.
reading the messages here I haveas rear O/S window problem but the reverse, for some reason this one window is going up about 3/4 inch too high & hence is out of set with the drivers front window.
Does anyone know (a) why this is & if they have seen it before what the fix is? Seems a bit excessive to have strip the interior panel out to get to the window & mechanism, its not loose, just rising up higher than it should for some weird reason.

Any help appreciated

Thanks
Not much help here. I have the same problem and as far as I can see taking the panel off is the only solution which I don't want to do. I always drop the window so the front glass doesn't hit it when the door is closed. There is a solution posted on one of the MB club sites if you feel you want to try it.
