Mines a garage baby too. Plus, I only drive her during nicer weather (when possible).

That said, when I asked the dealership about top care, they didn't come up with any comments at all. No special rain proofer to apply each year, nothing.

I would think about security a bit though. Not to make you nervous, but a soft top would be pretty easy to break into. I will say though, that I thought it cool that if I lock the car with the top down, and you open it by reaching inside for a door handle, the alarm goes off.

I really do enjoy this car, more so that the 20 I've owned before her.

Hi ... Mercedes have an OEM 'Convertible Impregnating Spray' which you use to protect and waterproof your soft top.

In Australia it costs about $40 AUD for a 300ml spray can [:0], which is about enough for 1 application.

This stuff is awesome - appears to deepen the black colour and water beads of it ..... the bar code on the can is A 001 986 31 71 10

Warning: You must mask the surrounding areas thoroughly .... don't get it on your windows or paintwork, cause it's real hard to get off !!!

Cheers

You mentioned the "alarm" going off when someone reaches inside! Is this a standard fitting? I recently purchased a 2000 CLK230K cabriolet and the MB dealer told me that although it has an immobiliser, only coupes got an alarm, as air motion inside a cabriolet, even when closed, can set it off.

I'd like an alarm so I could park with the top down. Any suggestions? Infra-red? Microwave? What brands?

Thnx
