Hey,
I'm having an odd problem with my CLK550.
The top won't go all the way up without me helping it come up, I checked the fluid and it's good. No visible leaks. It will only go half way up and then I need to stop, lift it some more and then hit the button again. Then there is no problem with the locking. I should also mention that it goes down without any problem.
Anyone experiencing the same problem?, hints on where to start the diagnosis process?

Thanks

First check the fluid level in the pump reservoir. If it's low, you likely have a leak, and it may be one of the main lift cylinders which tends to dump fluid deep into the bottom of the trunk or fenders where you can't easily find it. If there's no leaking, then it could be a weak cylinder or a weak pump. Pump pressure should be at least 170 bar (about 2500psi) when measured at the windshield cylinder.

Sorry to butt in to this thread, but where is the top pump ?
My top hasn't been working for years and I wonder if it's a fluid level problem

The pump (and its attached reservoir, where you check the fluid level) is in the trunk, left side, under the carpeted paneling.
