Purchased an '84 300 SD this weekend. Drove it about 300 miles in a West Texas wintery rain storm. So with wind, moisture and the occassional sun, we ran every aspect of the climate control. It worked great. Woke up on Saturday and it worked (I think) for a while, then nothing. No blowers, no switching from top to bottom, nothing. The temp will eventially change. You can feel the difference in air temp coming out from the by-pass air coming through. Summer is coming in Texas and I gotta get this going.
I replaced both fuses. The no. 11 fuse brackets were off color and the plastic was melted in the area. Nothing bad but a little. I could not really make a determination if it was from heat or something else. It was just not that bad.
The PO replaced a window motor the night before the the battery was run down when I arrived. We both were concerned. But it boosted off without any problem. And I never had any problem whatsoever during my long trip home.
I had the battery tested when I arrived. It is the large Interstate. It tested 761 CCA. So it is fine.
Nothing works on the Climate Control except the temp changer will change the by-pass air eventually. Any help appreciated.
