Did you check out ebay? I dont know about the price. But that is where i am going to buy mine.
Actually, that one (For_My_Mercedes) is chrome plated brass, so it is high quality and I think worth it (I have that one). If you can find the same thing cheaper, go for it. But, make sure you don't get plastic!BlackHawk - 2/22/2005 11:13 PM
Do you guys know where I can get this cheap it seems like $75 for just a piece of plastic or chrome whatever it is, is kind of expensive
The ones they sell on Ebay for $50 are metal and I bought one, but I am not very happy with it. The metal is very thin (slightly thicker than the wall of a soda can). I actually put a dent in it when installing it (which is just sticking it on with the included two-sided tape) and another one when I pushed against it to close the door.Actually, that one (For_My_Mercedes) is chrome plated brass, so it is high quality and I think worth it (I have that one). It's been a couple years, but I recall it being pretty substantial weight, and the fit was perfect. You can't tell it from factory. The factory one requires taking apart the tailgate (inside cover) and I do not see the advantage.rudeney - 2/23/2005 10:01 AM

How thick is the on you bought, Greg? I may need to get that one as I hate driving around with dented bling.
Also, as for not buying plastic, note that the OEM part is in fact plastic. I was thinking about just buying that from the dealer. At one time, it was only about $80, but of course takes a little more effort to install.
