Hi,

I am struggling to find the actual composition of the China Blue paint used back in 1980s on various mercedes models. ( Eclass, Gclass).
It is almost like a baby blue, Solid. It is the color used on the G class Heritage version in japan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnVp1_NPvYM

i found a 5934 ref, but the dupont system gave us a metallic paint. Clearly not what we are after...
934 is also a solid paint, but it is too dark / too green.
If anyone has some specific component split in teh base colors, it would be much appreciated!

otherwise, if someone knows how to get the right color code out of the Dupont system, it would also be fantastic.

Welcome to the forum.
The metal plaque on your radiator support should have the number for the paint code, provided it was an original Mercedes color.
In the US, running the VIN # would provide the same information, as should your regular Mercedes dealership.
German Co 'Spies Hecker' has made Mercedes paint for a long time, try their website. Another might be Glasurit.
Daimler Benz made different spec versions of same model car for different parts of the World. To get correct future advice (non paint related), your location can be important, so please complete your profile with car mod and location.

I should have been more precise: i am looking for the color code as I want to change the color of my G to this one.
Hence me desperately looking for the correct spec. It seems that there are quite a few variations of Chinablau...

spieshecker does list china blau, but they seem to only show the latest formula ( dark greenish blue, almost petrol), not the 1980s formula ( closer to light baby blue...)

Is there a way to get the composition of a paint for a specific year ?
