Hit the edit button and change the date. There is no "they".Kajtek1 said:I test-drove and put deposit on ML in Sept 1997.
What do they know?
May I ask when you took delivery? And what the build date on the ID plate was?Kajtek1 said:I test-drove and put deposit on ML in Sept 1997.

Funny how the MY is different from the actual year they build them these days. Like "2007 GL500" was on sale last year.
But I changed it back. The M-Class was the first SUV to feature unstability control, a system designed to detect loss of control and instantaneously intervene with selective braking to bring the vehicle back on its intended course.
Dumbasses actually - the opposite is instability.asianml said:A lot of smartasses editing the articles too. "The M-Class was the first SUV to feature unstability control, ..."
As much as we hear about owners bitching about their MLs, it's nice when you own one and other people think your ride is sweet--as much as you do. I'm at 108K miles and despite being built EIGHT years ago--many people I encounter think it's brand new!! How many owners of '99s can say that? I'm not hating on any brand I'm just in agreement that if you step back and look at all of the positives of our experience and the fun we have had. Man I can't imagine being happier in any other vehicle (excluding one's I can't afford anyway). And because nothing out there is wetting my whistle I'll just keep on truckin'.onesixthree said:Most people who drive or ride in my ml are surprised that it has over 110k miles. And say they feel more safe than in their lexus or acura. Once in Brooklyn, this dude in an x5 yelled out, 'new ml's suck!'. Oh well, mine is over 5 years old. Let them hate. I still love my car.
Not to mention the other mind psychosis such as delusion et al. We covet what we know and are close to. We can be stubborn and proud and bias and prejudice and live in denial. All wonderful human stuff! Well I'm going to admit to all of the above and even blindness to the belief I could have done better owning lots of other substitute models. But I own this one and I will fight to defend the haters. Even in my state of ignorant bliss!jrgthird said:It is normal for humans to be biased towards a product if it's their own unless the product is woefully inferior. We are on a ML web site so we would tend to defend the ML because we're owners. It's the same thing as having a fight with your brother. You will fight him without thinking about it but if someone outside the family wants to fight him, you join it to defeat the outside party. Personally, I think every vehicle has it's issues, ML included. I am, however, a happy ML500 owner, issues and all!!
I was rear-ended in Huntsville last year by a young dude on a cell phone in a Camry. He hit my trailer hitch (with the rubber cover) and tore the bumper on his car. He was terrified. He said he didn't mean to hit my new Mercedes. I said, "Aw shit, man. That thing's not new! It's 6 years old and has 150,000 miles on it." He was, to say the least, astounded. It didn't put a scratch on mine but I bet he had to get a new bumper for his.LOCHS 2 said:As much as we hear about owners bitching about their MLs, it's nice when you own one and other people think your ride is sweet--as much as you do.
