The description says: "Original Werkspanzer von Mercedes.", indicating that it might be an armored car. That should explain the price somewhat.

It is weird though. Most of the ad is in Swedish, but the description is in German.

Don't know about this one....

It is definitely armored.

Check out the thickness of the doors and the windows.

Also it is being sold by: "Asbeck Armoring Bonn GmbH".
A specialist retailer in armored cars.

If you look at the thickness of the top of the door frame it's clearly got bullet proof glass.

Those doors are extremely thick compared to the standard doors.

It's very tidy under the bonnet.

I would be suprised if you put bullet proof glass in and didn't armour the rest of the car, would be a little pointless you would think.

I would think that those tires are runflats of some description.

There are several different levels of armoring.

The lowest level will provide protection against light caliber firearms (9 mm handguns to 5.56mm assault rifles) to the virtual tank that President Bush rides around in (RPG and land mine protection).

I'm not in the market, but if you are, you need to figure out what level of protection you need and standard the vehicle has been built to.
