How are these oem?
You know this for sure?
Asking because the last thing owners want to 'dicker with' is a cheap oil filter to protect their pride n joy.

I'll stick with Mann - (thru FCPEuro). ;)

They can look great but do they let the oil flow through at the correct rate.
I’ll stick with genuine filters.

The photos in the ad show both “Mann Filter” and MB genuine filter markings (MB logo and A112... p/n. Which means the photos have been pinched from elsewhere, and are not of the actual product being offered. Unless that product has been marked identically.

In either case, should you fork out the $15 and figure out they’re copies, you won’t be wasting time or money to return them or get a refund.

Anyway Carl, in the USA you can pick up a genuine MB filter from your dealer for about $8. So why risk it? Unless they’ve gone up.

Those are the real deal on Amazon. I have used them several times. I have 3 MBs that use them and have had no issues.
If one takes the Mann filter out of the box and compares it to the MB dealer filter many of the same markings are on the MB filter. A few times I have gotten the MB dealer filter and they were identically marked like the Mann filters.

Or they are just really good fakes. I've pretty much stopped buying any new critical parts on Amazon or eBay as they are full of fakes. There was a guy on the W209 forum who bought a Bosch MAF sensor on Amazon. It did not work. He then bought the same Bosch MAF sensor from a reputable Euro parts dealer and compared them. The fake even had the hologram sticker on it, but it was a fake. I bought a "geniune MBZ" oil centrifuge cover on Amazon. It even came in the correct-looking MBZ logo box, but it was a fake.

The value is in the eye of the beholder.....
All the power to those who find no issues in these "knock-offs". :)
Amazon and fleabay are full of critical component knock-offs.

And if anyone is -vely affected by one of these "geniune knock-offs", my mini violin will be playing Wintermärchen for you.

They're about $15 per at the dealer.

Mann filters are cheap at FCP. Two with shipping should be under $20.

When I flushed my trans fluid, they were US$10.50. Trans filter was $8.72.

Since then, inflation.

But at my local MB dealer, oil filter is AU$40.

So now they’re $15, you can save $1 every 1000 miles thanks to Amazon. Unless you’re like me and push the interval to 13k miles - you save $1 every 2000 miles.

Me ? I use Mann when I cann....hey thats got a ring to it.

But if not, K&N who makes racing filters for champions, has me covered at Walmart for $9.

Then again, how often will you change it out ?

I do a 5,000 miles filter change religiously - so I only go half as long on a filter. Oil every 10k.

Yes the Mann looks to have a bit more physical stability to the media but 10,000 miles requires that.

And the K&N looks identical to the Mobil 1unit, the WIX and the NAPA Gold all of which I've used with good results.

Gosh, that we're all so fastidious to use ONLY great quality recommended Syn Fluids & regular quality filter changes no wonder I've heard NO talk here of anyone wearing out their engine.

Have any of you ever seen it on a properly maintained MB ?

Alrighty! Well this is promising....

I dont have time tonite but heres a the teaser....

The oil filters arrived and I am shocked they are in Meredes factory boxes, I was expecting the green and yellow Mann box we all know and love.

Anyway, I'm not gonna open the box and do the side by side tonite, I'll do that tomorrow.

Google info on oil filters, Bob the oil guy is a pretty good site.
Frequently, cheap oil filters have paper elements, which can come apart, and create 'kaboom engine kaput' problem. Mann and Hengst are offered at pretty low prices online.

Edit: Looking at the MB boxes you received, that could be Mercedes new Star program, where they also offer a cheaper, second quality part alternative, to compete with the proliferation of online sellers.
