6.9 quarts? A bit skimpy for 8.5quart oil capacity, isn't it?

Yes, it is but once its filled up, u dump it then continue with a 2nd round this is good because it gives u a little more time to drain the leftovers, and also suction the area where the filter plugs into.

The leftover is probably the utmost dirty/gunky/slimy/yacky oil that will continue to circulate in your precious engine.

Hey guys,ok the capacity is a,little shrt coming but for the price of 60 bucks is great deal I removed nearly every drop of oil sludge. I also suctioned the pan out. U can't get that suctioning quality with the regular method. Btw do u guys ever clean out ur topsider? What do use to clean if u do?

I use my MityVac for lot of things including vacuuming gas from lawnmowers for the winter. Made a policy of never leave the oil or other stuff in it. Our garbage company is giving us 1 gallons recycling containers, so I push the oil into them from MV right away. It is much easier to do it with warm oil, than next day when it get cold anyway.
NO, I don't open it for wiping clean ;)

I rinse out the mityvac after use with a degreaser. I heard that the oil can degrade the seals. i do not know if this is helpful but it(the mityvac) is still working. Paul

"Simple Green" is a Good One for "most" degreasing jobs.

For "Harder-Core" Degreasing, consider a POR-15 product called "Marine Clean"...
