The car is a 2001 E55 AMG with HID Xenon. They have been repolish 2-3 times. I'm looking to buy non HID Xenon headlights. Technically is there a problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They should be plug and play. I think there are about 4 types you can get. I would stick with the originals with better lighting than look.

Thank you rufrob for your input, I'm thinking Halogen Headlights for the moment because HID oem are too expensive.
Do you know if the adaptive height will throw a Code if they are not like the originals.

I have swapped the HIDs for halogens and it didn’t throw any codes. It did throw codes when I tried LEDs.

Why dont you pickup replacement cover lenses?
Cheaper and not that difficult to replace (by removing and resealing the perimeter seal with a heat gun)

Headlight lenses

That is where I ordered mine in past.
For both the w210 and W163
They never came back with a price even after sending a requested picture of my car. I ordered at another place a complete set for halogen bulbs.
