This was discussed here several month ago. Yes, there is a vacuum reservoir for the locking system, that allows you to open and close locks several times. The problems- valves, reservoir, lines.
The pump is under the rear seat on the passenger side. Pull up the rear seat and it's in a foam housing. Operate the central locking as you normally would, listen for the pump whirring. If it isn't you either tripped a fuse or your pump died. According to my BRITISH haynes manual, the central locking pump is on fuse #12. Hope this helps.
