1992 300E Central locking of doors will not lock when using key in drivers door. System will look when using key in passenger door and trunk. Any suggestions or past experiences with this problem?

Try disconnecting the central locking pump for 30 seconds.

If that doesn't work, it is either a bad solanoid inside the door or a fault with the alarm if you have one fitted.

Yes. Most aftermarket alarms which activate the central locking are wired through the drivers door wires.

So if disconnecting the pump has no affect then I would check out the alarm. By the way, is the central locking still working from the alarm?

Tks. Central locking does not lock when I use remote which it did before. Aftermarket alarm light does indicate system activated when using remote.

That sounds like the link.

The alarm wiring is normally cut into the central locking wiring under the drivers footwell carpet.

Pull up the carpet and the plastic trim covering the wires.

Hopefully you will find where the wires are joined easily and one of them will have broken off and just want re soldering.

If you find where it is bridged and there is no apparent fault, cut out the alarm wires and rejoin the original ones. That should fix it (the alarm will still work, it just won't lock and unlock the doors from the remote).
