Hello all,

A few weeks ago my vacuum pump took a dive so i tore it apart and discovered the motor was burnt out. So i ordered a replacement and got the pump working again. Now however i have another problem when i turn the key in the lock or use the IR sensor nothing happens at all. No clicks, no relays going, nothing. The door lights and the alarm still work so the car knows i'm trying to lock it but won't turn on the pump.

First thing i did was check all fuses and they are fine. On further investigation i took the pump apart again and discovered it does have power going to it but the relay switches on the pump for lock and unlock are not getting power. When i manually switch the relay everything locks and unlocks just fine. So something is not tripping those relays that is supposed to. Does anyone know what might cause this problem or have a wiring schematic of the central locking system so i can sort though it?

Regards

I'm having a similar problem with my 2000 SL I just purchased. Had Klaus rebuild my pump for me and verify it works.

It kicks on for a few seconds, but attempting to actuate the locks with key, dash switch or with remote renders no auto locking. The IR remote simply triggers the car to flash the lights at me 3 times. No hissing nothing.

Anyone? I searched all thread related to Door Locks?

Is there an actuator circuit built into the Soft Top controller on the MY2000 Cars?

Anyone have a Trouble Tree from Mercedes on this system?

This site is great and thanks for tolerating me bumping this thread from the dead.
