SL350 (2004) - my remote Central Locking (CL) starting playing up, then I picked up on an idea to hold the fob against the IR window on the door handle. This was successful for a while but now the CL doesn't work at all, remote or by the switch inside the car.

My boot won't fully close, it is latched but not tightly shut which in turn won't let me put the roof down, a warning of "boot lid open" is always present.

I guess the CL pump is suspect, the 20 amp fuse f71 was blown, I replaced it but it blew again.

How sure can I be to replace the CL pump?

You cannot be sure, it may even be a bad wiring problem. Best to start a new thread on the forum for your car;

Thanks, turned out to be the PSE pump> remote still doesn"t work so I guess the receiver is at fault. To top it all my roof won't open now. (only since the PSE pump was replaced}
