Is it possible to add a master switch on the passenger door, and perhaps in the trunk, so simulate the w124 so we can open the central locking through all door/trunk locks? I was thinking the main vacuum supply line would have to be tapped and routed into three lines to the driver door (existing), passenger door, and trunk, and then from there maintain the existing lines for the two rear doors.

Sometimes I drive the 300TE and open everything from the tailgate/passenger door, and sometimes when I switch to my car I have that mental note to put my stuff in by opening the central locking through the passenger door or the trunk only to realize it's not the 124.

Do the lock mechanisms have to be changed if this were to be done?

I think that you could do it, but--- the drivers door doesn't have a vac actuator, so you would need to add one.

best bet is to get the vac diagrams from both cars, and see how its done.
