[BIG 500SEC]

Hi,
This is my first post on here and Im hoping someone out there knows what it is Ive done! The drivers door lock (Im in the UK so thats the right hand door) on my 1990 500SEC has never worked the cental locking since I bought the car. The central locking worked fine from the passenger door or boot, but not the drivers lock?! So today I removed the door trim and looked at the vaccum actuator in the door and it all looked fine. So I figured that the actuator must be faulty and not sending a signal to lock/unlock...heres where I made a wee oopsie! I unplugged the 3 pin round plug that goes into the actuator and put a jumper wire accross two of the terminals.....well, there was a small spark and now both doors/boot/fuel cap wont lock/unlock with the central locking. They all lock/unlock by putting the key in each lock but not all together with the central locking.

Ive obviously blown something, but all the fuses in the fuse box are fine? Anybody know what Ive done??

One other thing, when you pull out the fog light switch is the wee bit of orange plastic supposed to light up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In mine the orange plastic centre only lights up when the rear fog light is on, ie two clicks out. My CL doesnt work either but when I lock/unlock the doors i can hear something make a central locking sound inside the door, it just doesnt do anything.

Might be a vacuum problem...

Thanks for the ideas.....got it fixed now! I got a new door actuator and pump from the scrappy (out of a 300e class coupe) for £20. Turned out it was just the door actuator I killed, so Ive got a spare pump! The locks work from any door/boot and also works from the remote alarm keyfob now (never did that before).

My orange light only comes on with the rear foglight, wasnt sure if it should come on with both front and rear or not....guess not!
