I've read that some do this to help keep the tube clean... does this sound right? What would that really do to your intake? clean it or gum it up? Not too excited about rooting the tube unless I really need to. This car barely passes Smog each time it needs to so this may be a big help...

I checked my egr, it opens when vacuum applied, seems to close after released, but I have a new one ready to go in anyway to be certain. When I tested the egr, I guess I noticed a change in the way the engine idled, but it did not seem like a big change, at least not what I expected... so I wonder if tube is maybe partially clogged...

I've never used SeaFoam before, either...

thanks for reading

Look in our DIY sticky for the link on how to clean your EGR tube.
