Hi Guys,

I just installed a new deck in my car. It's a Pioneer. After fiddling with the wires for a while I got all four speakers playing. The BIG problem is: At max. volume on the CD player, the speakers (stock factory) only put out a slight whisper. I can hear the music and there doesn't seem to be ant distortion but it's extremely quiet. I bought this unit used and I'm wondering if this sounds like the unit is at fault or if it's the wiring. BTW: I'm still going through the factory fader.

Thanks a lot, Andrei

I'm not sure I understand. In the current setup I'm not using the RCA jacks at all. What am I supposed to do? Also, I believe the factory speakers have 2 ohm impendance, would that cause them to be ultra-quiet?

First, you have to match the impedance of the speaker with the player 4- 8 ohm ,it should be listed on the box or paper work.
Most have two types of input /output wires . They have a low powered output for Amps ,the other wires would go directly to the speakers.

The unit I installed had RCA jacks like a home stereo , which were for the amplifier input ,they were very low in volume when connected to the speakers.

I hope that helps.
